Encircling the centre is an almost complete ring of Roman walls: four main Roman streets – conveniently called North, South, East and West – lead out from the central Market Cross, defining the shape of the city. Within these spaces are an enticing mix of Roman ruins, Georgian architecture, leafy parks and bustling shops and cafes.

Soak up the Norman and Gothic architecture of Chichester Cathedral or head to the adjacent Bishop’s Palace gardens to sit back and relax in lovely verdant surroundings. A short walk away, at Pallant House Gallery, admire an absorbing collection of modern British art from 1900 onwards.

Ten minutes prior to the scheduled departure time on your ticket, please make your way back to Chichester Station. Shortly after reboarding British Pullman, you’ll find yourself with a glass of chilled champagne in hand, which is soon followed by a sensational three-course dinner. A bottle of our sommelier’s choice of wine accompanies the seasonal menu, with coffee served before you arrive back in London.
