Relish a true recreation of the Golden Age of Travel on this exclusive journey. Commemorate the iconic Golden Arrow’s final run, which took place 50 years ago on 30th September 1972.

For this extraordinary journey, British Pullman will be hauled by Belmond’s resident steam locomotive no. 35028, Clan Line, itself a veteran of the Golden Arrow. Based at Dover and London in the 1950s, the mighty locomotive was frequently allocated to the prestigious train.

Your adventure begins at London Victoria Station as you board British Pullman’s immaculate umber and cream carriages. With evocative clouds of steam heralding your progress, head out along the historic boat-train route through Ashford. Your personal steward will serve a delicious sparkling Bellini followed by an elegant brunch. Take time to soak up the exquisite details of your authentic art deco carriage, as well as the passing views through your picture window. Enjoy a short stopover in Canterbury with a guided walking tour of the cobbled, medieval city, famous for its cathedral. Alternatively, feel free to explore at leisure before making your own way back to Canterbury West Station.

Back on board, continue to Dover to link up with the traditional route of the Golden Arrow for your return to London. As you linger over a delectable Golden Arrow-inspired three-course dinner, contemplate the intrepid travellers of yesteryear who understood that the journey was every bit as important as the destination.
