Days 1 & 2
Lyon – Montmerle
Welcome aboard. Toast the start of your luxury travel experience alongside your dedicated crew and guide before settling into your generous cabin. Later, enjoy cocktails on deck and take in the balmy bucolic views, in anticipation of your first gourmet dinner – a perfect blend of seasonal delicacies prepared by your chef, paired with irresistible Burgundy wines.
You may wish to disembark after breakfast and visit Lyon, France’s third largest city. Dominating the skyline is the ornate Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, which offers sweeping views from its hilltop perch. Enjoy a walking tour of the old town with your guide, then explore at your own leisure. Return to Lilas for lunch and a cruise along the River Saône. This evening, enjoy a sumptuous dinner onboard.

Days 3 & 4
Mâcon – Tournus
After a scenic morning cruise and lunch onboard, alight Lilas and visit Roche de Solutré – a picturesque limestone escarpment with spellbinding views and glorious vineyards. Stop for a wine tasting or two at local wineries and chateaux on the way back to the barge. Tonight, we dine onboard in our mooring at Mâcon, a thriving market town situated between the Mâconnais and Beaujolais vineyards.
Savour the beauty of Southern Burgundy as we travel further along the River Saône. Your guide may suggest an afternoon sojourn to the Abbaye de Cluny, a former monastery and masterpiece of Romanesque art. Return to the barge for dinner and cocktails. Tonight’s mooring is in the pretty town of Tournus. After dinner, you may feel inclined to take a stroll and explore or simply relax on deck beneath the stars.
Days 5 & 6
Chalon-sur-Saône – St-Jean-de-Losne
Soak up the scenery this morning as we travel to the market town of Chalon-sur-Saône. Enjoy lunch on shore at a charming restaurant, before spending the afternoon in Beaune. The area, considered the capital of Burgundy’s wine region, is home to the Joseph Drouhin cellar, a historic location open to the public for wine tastings and exclusive tours. Enjoy an exceptional tasting before returning to the boat for a gastronomic feast onboard.
Today you may wish to indulge in a walking tour of Chalon-sur-Saône, a riverside town of half-timbered buildings and charming pavement cafés. Embrace the bustling atmosphere of market day in St Vincent Cathedral's square. Afterwards, rejoin Lilas for a final cruise towards St-Jean-de-Losne. Celebrate the end of a magnificent journey with champagne and cocktails, before savouring an exquisite farewell feast prepared by your diligent chef.
